Tired of the same old programs on Mexico and Canada?

Want something new?

Think China!

I have two passions in life, Magic and China. They are my hobbies/obsessions.

While I have traveled around to libraries for years, I have also continued to do educational shows about China for schools and civic groups.

I have discovered that many libraries also recieve funding for mutli-cultural programs and want something new.

I have the solution. China. I have had the opportunity to visit China several times, and now bring back items and stories to share.

In my typical presentation (about 50 minutes):

Learn a few words of Chinese (Mandarin)

Learn about Chinese Culture and Traditions (I focus on Spring Festival).

Practice with chopsticks (picking up candy, which the kids can eat anything they can pick up)

Show and Tell: I distribute Chinese items to display: laterns, good luck charms, and American products that are marketed in China in both English and Chinese.

Since this program is geared for kids, I focus a lot more attention on seeing and touching than on talking! Kids will enjoy the pictures and learn without it seeming like a day of school!

As a special feature of my show, I have some authentic items for each child to keep, which include Chinese money, Chinese paper art, chopsticks, Chinese candy, or other items. The kids really enjoy getting something from another culture that they can keep. (Adults enjoy it just as much!)

Note: For Larger groups or to decrease costs, the giveaways can be reduced or eliminated.
